Franchise Partner Announcement Creative (3)

Celebrating one year of Pass The Keys Exeter!

One year from the start of our Pass The Keys journey and we have hosted over 85 breaks and we’re steadily building our portfolio to provide top-quality short-let property management services to homeowners in the area.

Despite the chaos of Covid, Exeter has had a fantastic first year and we’re excited to move out to Exmouth, Dawlish, Teignmouth and beyond. Below we explain what has made this first year great and what we are aiming for in the future.

How long have you been a Franchise Partner and how has your experience been overall?

It has now been a full year of operations, although that has flown by! 2020 was an unusual year for us all, but we knew once lockdown restrictions eased that we would be in a great position being in the heart of Devon. There have certainly been some challenges, though they have set us in good stead for building the business in the future. If we can do well in 2020, just imagine what we can achieve next year.

What drew you to franchising with Pass the Keys?

Pass the Keys really does offer the full package and their technology enables us to ensure that the service we provide is second to none. We have been running a local independent estate agency for over ten years and knew there was an appetite for the short-term rental market here but had never been able to find a solution that would provide the gold standard our clients had become used to. Once we looked at Pass the Keys, we knew the people, the support and the technology were all in place and we could offer this as a viable option alongside our other services. We were not prepared to do anything other than an excellent job and Pass the Keys has a proven model that they are continually improving and developing.

How would you describe Pass the Keys as an organisation?

They truly listen and understand their hosts’ needs and want to do their best to help support them and make the most out of every homeowner’s property. As a relatively young organisation, it has a contagious energy and is constantly searching for ways to adapt and improve. Enthusiasm and innovation for the industry are what keep Pass the Keys at the top of its game.

What about the business model?

The combination of the National HQ support, the technology, and the local knowledge and expertise ensure that every base is covered. Mistakes have been made and overcome to provide an even better service. Being part of a close-knit team of Franchise Partners means we have a wealth of experience all across the UK and we can draw from each other to better understand any issues within the sector. As we have grown, territories have become more distinct and we are now able to really fine-tune how we operate in each area. There is always room for growth, and the business model allows us to flex and adapt as the market changes.

What is the support like from Pass the Keys HQ?

They couldn’t be more supportive! My Account Manager is invaluable to me, he is extremely reliable and we always have our weekly catch-ups. I think the team is great, I can’t fault it. No negatives at all.

HQ has been there at every step and has been crucial to our success. There is always someone around to help, whether it is a technical issue or just general advice. Our Account Manager has a wealth of experience, so we are always confident we will get the support we need just at the end of a phone call.
